WELCOME TO YOUR SENIOR PORTRAIT EXPERIENCE
I'm Jenny. My work is less about getting someone to perform for a camera and more about listening past what's said — noticing the version of you that shows up once you've stopped worrying about how you look, and trusting that version is worth photographing. Senior year moves fast, and it doesn't always leave room for that kind of pause. So I built a process that does the holding-together for you: one planning conversation to get every detail settled, a session where I do the guiding so you don't have to think about posing, and one selection appointment where we choose your favorites together — no scattered emails, no guesswork on what happens next.
Expect
What to
Every session starts the same way — with a planning conversation, not a photo call. We'll talk through your hobbies, your people, the things that actually take up space in your head right now, and let that shape where we go and what we do rather than working from a generic list of poses. If you're not naturally at ease in front of a camera, that's expected, not a problem to fix — I build the time in for your guard to come down at its own pace.

LOCATION
The right location does some of the work before we even start shooting. I've photographed seniors across the Des Moines metro — open fields, downtown textures, football fields and auditoriums for the athletes and performers, my West Des Moines studio for anyone who wants a clean, controlled backdrop, and styled, editorial-inspired settings for seniors who want something a little more elevated. During your planning conversation, we'll talk through what actually fits you, whether you've already got a place in mind or need me to suggest a few that match your story.

WHEN TO BOOK
My calendar usually fills a couple of months out, and summer and fall are the busiest stretch — so if you want images to share throughout senior year, it's worth booking early. Season also shapes the shoot itself: cozy layers read best in late fall or winter, sunflower fields have a short window in June, and spring brings its own flowers and light. Part of the planning conversation is matching your session to the season that actually fits the look you're picturing.
