Class of 2022 - Des Moines Senior Photography | Emily

A fun and relaxing senior photo session.

Emily was one of my wonderful Class of 2022 seniors. Here’s a few highlights of her session. We shot her session both in downtown Des Moines as well as in a local nature area to give her a wide variety of images from her senior portrait session.

We were lucky for a beautiful evening on the day of her session and captured some amazing images that capture her personality.

Emily, like most of my seniors, was a bit nervous about her senior pictures. Can you believe this was the first image we took in her session! You would never know she was nervous. My job as a senior photographer is to make you look great, so I start all of my sessions out with getting to know you and making you comfortable before we even start shooting. I also have so many tricks I have learned over the years to help you look as natural as Emily does in this picture.

Emily personalized her session by including her band jacket in a few of her images. I love this as it provides layers to her outfits as well as capturing an activity that is a big part of her high school memories. Adding layers to your outfits for your senior photos is a great idea for your session as it adds more variety to your final image gallery.

After a few downtown locations in a couple of different outfits, we moved to a natural, grassy location to add a different look to her gallery. The sun was starting to set by the end of her session, which made this location really stand out from the downtown images. Emily rocked it in both locations, her beautiful smile and her serious looks. I think my favorite is the slightly devious look you see in this image on the right.
